According to Webster, self-esteem is a confidence and satisfaction of oneself. In short, it's the opinion you have of you. Your level of self-esteem, whether high or low, takes root in childhood.
Celebrities like Chris Pratt, Emma Watson, and Arnold Schwarzenegger have struggled with low self-esteem. It's even been reported that Leonardo Da Vinci wrote in his diary, "Tell me if I ever did a thing." Ummm, maybe one or two incredibly famous paintings!
Here's the takeaway. Some people talk about their insecurities and some people don't. Just because someone doesn't talk about their insecurities or post about them doesn't mean they don't have them. We all have them but it's a matter of how we manage them.
Raising self-esteem takes practice and patience and perfection is not part of the equation. It's a daily mindful, awareness of you and your thoughts that you will practice the rest of your life. Start shifting the focus today and change that negative thought into something kinder and softer because you're worth it.
