Learning to Accept You

As you kick off 2021 with a fresh start, I would ask that you take a moment to acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses. We all have both of them. Someone who thinks they lack any weakness...well that's just not a thing. So, acknowledging the fact that we all have strengths and we all have weaknesses is a good place to begin. If your first thought is about your weaknesses - keep reading. I'm talking to you. As parents, we love our children unconditionally, one incredible bundle of strengths and weaknesses. Yet with ourselves, we do not. We love our strengths but chastise and judge our weaknesses. Sadly, we are our own worst enemy. A weakness isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just means it's not where you shine. For most things, your weakness can be changed into a strength. The choice to turn that weakness into a strength is yours to make, you have the power to decide for yourself what you allow to be your weaknesses.

Learning to accept who you are involves an understanding of you. If you are willing to take the time to learn about who you truly are on the inside, you will be more understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. This understanding opens the door for you to embrace your weaknesses as well as your strengths. This understanding leads to a conscious self-acceptance of the incredible individual you are.

So for your 2021 resolution give yourself permission learn about you and just Be You.
